Welcome on board Explorer 1!

EXPLORER I IS A POWER CATAMARAN BOAT DESIGNED FOR DIVING CRUISES AND EXPEDITIONS WITH AN AUTONOMY OF SEVERAL WEEKS IF NECESSARY.
THE BOAT HAS BEEN REBUILT AND FITTED WITH THE EQUIPMENT FOR RECREATIONAL, TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL SCUBA DIVING (RESEARCH, RESCUE, FILMS, TEC DIVING AND LEISURE).

It’s a fast boat!

EQUIPPED WITH 2 YANMAR 6-CYLINDER TURBO DIESEL ENGINES WITH A POWER OF 440HP EACH OR 880 HP IN TOTAL, OUR TRAVEL SPEED ALLOWS US TO REACH OUTER ISLANDS IN A SHORT TIME.

E.g. in good weather conditions, the sail time between Mahé and the Amirantes group is 8 hours (usually reached between 16h and 20h for the other boats).

This feature allows us to offer expedtion programs on coral atolls in a very short time.

For your confort

THE MAXIMUM CAPACITY SET AT 6 DIVERS ALLOWS US TO DIVE IN REAL SANCTUARIES WHILE RESPECTING THE ENVIRONMENT

Although the boat can accommodate more divers (and non-divers), for your comfort and space, especially hanks to its size that could have accommodated more passengers, we have favoured comfort and space, the number of cabins is limited to 3. This also enables us to limit the number of divers underwater..

You may select one of the following 3 cabins available:

  • Aldabra: master cabin with large twin beds with private bathroom and toilet
  • Granite: cabin with a large twin beds
  • Amirantes: cabin with 2 single bunk beds

You will also have a shared bathroom..

Each cabin is fitted with independently adjustable air conditioning and ventilation, Wi-Fi and USB sockets are available on board. You will also find lots of entertainment (music and videos) as well as a reading corner.

On the outdoor upper decks, a solarium welcomes you to the front next to the outdoor cockpit and you can relax in the lounge at the rear.

At the lower rear deck, the covered dining room is outside next to the diving platform. The kitchen, lounge and main cockpit are inside.

For your safety

In addition to all mandatory navigation, communication, and rescue equipment, the ship is equipped with an oxygen therapy station with a medical oxygen reserve of 20,000 liters and a hyperbar decompression chamber (October 2020) to deal immediately with emergency situations that may arise in scuba diving.

The team on board is trained for the use of such equipment. They are also experienced in rescue and first aid on board, at sea and in diving.

The main qualifications of the crew on board are as follows:

  • STCW International Training (radio, fire, emergency first aid, marine survival, etc.)
  • Rescue Diver
  • Oxygen Provider
  • Emergency First Responder
  • Hyperbaric Decompression Chamber Operator

For the environment

Like you, we try to reduce our ecological footprint as much as possible with small daily actions. The fragility of the ecosystem of the Seychelles archipelago prompts us to propose you an approach close to «zero-waste».

On board, you will find real coffee made in an authentic Italian coffee maker. Espresso and other cappuccinos are of much lower quality and we thus eliminate the use of aluminum capsules, which are not recycled in Seychelles.

You will not have small bottles of water but a fountain distributing cold water and hot water and isothermal bottles. This will help you to manage your water consumption and hydrate as often as possible.

You will have at your disposal a environmentally friendly shower gel and environmentally friendly shampoo. But if you want to use yours, remember to check their composition. Marseille or Aleppo soap is totally biodegradable. In this same logic, we also advise you to choose sun creams that are not harmful to coral.

Even if the boat is equipped with a saltwater separator, we will ask you to be “reasonable” with the use of water and toilet paper. Shower are installed in the toilet.

The planet thanks you!
